Have you considered using Geo URI instead of Plus Codes on the protocol layer?
- Its already a URI standard described in IETF RFC and easily manipulable by algorithms.
- With the extensions introduced in Android you can also easily open Geo URI links.
- Plus Codes are still nice for human readable places and can be very easily constructed for display. Some nice discussion on that here: https://github.com/google/open-location-code/issues/248
Open this link on your mobile and select Windy Maps or Google Maps (
u= parameter is optional, but would be nice to support it for areas): geo:47.1691,8.5152?q=Juanitos&u=30
Here is our attempt at creating a reviews data format standard based on URI subject identifiers.
